Journalist Sami Mokbel has shared that Manchester United have entered the race for West Ham’s £100 million rated Declan Rice.

Arsenal reportedly opened talks with a £90 million swoop for the 24-year-old but their rivals Manchester United would be prepared to pay the full asking price.

Mokbel shared this update on the Daily Mail with the summer transfer window fast approaching.

The Gunners return to the Champions League next season and will need to strengthen their squad, especially with key cog Granit Xhaka set to leave.

Arsenal are said to be in pole position for a Declan Rice deal but there are fresh concerns with their offer falling £10 million short of West Ham’s price.

West Ham reportedly hope to spark a bidding war for the England International.

Declan Rice is set for a huge wage boost with any deal and could see his £60,000-a-week at West Ham reach £240,000-a-week at Arsenal.

The report from the Daily Mail states that Chelsea too have a long standing interest in Rice but the midfielder wants to play Champions League football next season.

Mokbel also shares that Manchester United are interested in a £55 million swoop for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.

‘United’s interest in Rice and Mount opens up the prospect of the boyhood friends playing in the same team next season.’

‘Rice and Mount, who both came through the academy system at Chelsea, have a close relationship; and the prospect of reuniting at club level is likely to interest the duo.’

Arsenal have reportedly also shown interest in Mason Mount and Chelsea, like West Ham, will hope to spark a bidding war for the England international. 

With the summer window on the horizon, the duo’s next destination could be key to next season’s title race.

Arteta’s side came up short in this year’s title race and weren’t helped by key injuries to William Saliba and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

The added depth the England duo could bring would strengthen Arsenal’s push to end a 20-year-run without a league title.

It seems Arteta could lead a big squad overhaul at the Emirates despite a much improved season.
